The Benefits of a Powerflush

What is a Powerflush?

A power flush is a deep cleaning process that uses high-pressure water and chemical cleaning elements to clear sludge and debris that might be clogging up your central heating system. The sludge and debris build up in your central heating pipes can prevent hot water from circulating effectively and can cause cold spots on radiators or radiators stop working all together.

Possible signs that indicate you are in need of a power flush are:

  • Radiators are taking a long time to heat up or aren’t heating up at all
  • Cold spots on your radiators, particularly at the bottom
  • Noisy boiler and radiators
  • Some radiators struggle to heat up more than others
  • Boiler constantly needs to be restarted
  • Discoloured water when radiators are bleed
  • Cold radiators but hot pipes
  • Radiator leaks

The Benefits of a Powerflush

If your radiators are taking a long time to heat up or aren’t heating up at all, it suggests there is a possible blockage in the system. A power flush can remove the blockage and ensure radiators heat up warmer and faster.

A Powerflush Can Improve the Lifespan of Your Central Heating System

By having a power flush and removing blockages in the pipework you will extend the life of your central heating system and make sure it works more efficiently as it heats your home.

Powerflush Savings and Efficiency

Power flushed heating systems are significantly more energy efficient as your home heat up faster and waste less energy. Therefore more cost effective, lowering bills and reducing the risk of breakdowns.

Powerflushing produces long lasting results

Once your central heating has benefited from a power flush, to keep your system maintained then power flushing every five-six years is a good idea. You may be able to get away with power flushing your radiators every eight-ten years depending on the quality of the materials used in your system.
